Steelbird Hi-Tech India Limited, a prominent name in the helmet manufacturing industry, is making significant strides in the lucrative baby toys market. With just a year since its entry into the segment, Steelbird is already setting ambitious targets, aiming to achieve a revenue of 100 crores.
Having initially introduced two models of baby walkers a year ago, Steelbird Toys is now expanding its product range to include niche categories such as skating helmets, safety gears, cycling helmets, and baby bathers. The brand’s products will be available at leading modern stores and online ecommerce platforms, solidifying its position as a major player in the baby toys market.
With its rapid growth trajectory and commitment to excellence, Steelbird is poised to redefine industry standards and capture a significant share of the market. As consumer demand continues to evolve, Steelbird remains focused on delivering products that prioritize safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
This strategic expansion into the rapidly growing baby toys market is backed by an investment of 20 crores over the next 8-10 months, fuelled by internal accruals.
Commenting on the company’s latest venture, The Director of Steelbird Toys, Ms. Srishti Kapur highlighted Steelbird’s longstanding reputation for trust and quality, both domestically and internationally. She emphasized the brand’s dedication to providing safe, high-quality products to its customers. Steelbird Toys aims to generate revenue of 100 crores in its first year of operation. This ambitious goal reflects the brand’s confidence in its ability to capture market share and meet the evolving needs of consumers. The investment will not only support product development but also facilitate the acquisition of new machinery and equipment.
Steelbird’s entry into the baby toys segment marks a significant milestone in the company’s growth trajectory. With a focus on innovation and customer satisfaction, Steelbird is poised to disrupt the industry and redefine safety and entertainment for children worldwide.
Encouraged by the overwhelming response to Steelbird toys, Shristi Kapur said, “We are planning to quickly ramp up our product facilities in Noida, and this 20 crore investment will be made in adding new product lines and machines.”
Commenting on the market, Shrishti said, “This market is largely fragmented, as toys cater to different age groups. Toddlers have different needs compared to kids aged 5 to 12, who prefer more mechanized toys. In India, there are hardly any single brands that fulfil the needs of all segments, and here at Steelbird, we see a great opportunity to make a significant impact. Last year, we sold 50000 baby walkers, so you can imagine the potential in this market.”
“With the emergence of special retail stores for babies, this market is also expanding. Parents are increasingly looking for safe, non-toxic, and child-friendly products, and our goal is to provide them with the same quality products at Indian prices that they purchase during their overseas travels or from import stores.”
“The Indian toys market size is approximately 1000 Cr , with imported toys constituting 70% share, while domestic manufacturers have a minimal market share as they struggle to compete with international brands. So, when we entered this space, our first objective was to provide products on par with international brands.”
“The online market is also a huge opportunity for us, as we receive almost 100 orders per day. Our next step is to expand the existing range by adding more variants and introducing innovative products like baby carriers and tricycles.”
“On retail plans, Shrishti said, “Steelbird Helmet already has a network of over 200 exclusive retail shops where we sell helmets, and we plan to add cycling and skating helmets to these outlets as well. Besides, we are looking at deep penetration into tier 2 cities, where we are receiving a good response. At present, we have 3000 retailers besides all modern retail stores, and we intend to add 10000 retail points in the next 2 years,” concluded Shrishti.
